Nathan’s Slow Cooker Bourbon BBQ Pork

This party-worthy BBQ is simple to make and perfect for a crowd. And the best part–all you have to do after some simple prep is slice the buns and put out the potato salad and pickles. 4 to 5 pound pork shoulder
serves 8 - 10

Ingredients

1 cup ketchup
2 tablespoons maple syrup
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
2 cloves garlic, minced
2 shots bourbon whiskey
1 tablespoon orange zest
1/4 cup brown sugar
Freshly ground black pepper to taste

Nathan’s Slow Cooker Bourbon BBQ Pork

Directions

1. Put pork shoulder into slow cooker. Mix remaining
ingredients in bowl and pour over pork.
2. Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
3. Remove pork, shred with 2 forks, and set aside.
Reserve sauce.
4. Strain sauce into a sauce pan. Bring to boil on stove-top and simmer until thickened. You can add a little flour if you want a thicker sauce.
5. Return shredded pork and thickened sauce to slow cooker. Set to warm or low and serve.
