makes 4 dozen


1 cup butter

1/3 cup powdered sugar

3/4 cup cornstarch

1 cup flour



1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons melted butter

1 teaspoon vanilla

Natural food coloring (just a drop for a pastel color)

Melting Moments

  1. Mix all ingredients and chill for one hour (the dough will be very stiff).
  2. Preheat oven to 350°.
  3. After well-chilled, break off small pieces and roll into 3/4 inch balls and place onto ungreased  cookie sheet.
  4. Bake 15 to 20 minutes until bottoms are light brown. Watch them carefully, checking the bottom for doneness.
  5. If you will be frosting your cookies, mix all frosting ingredients together.
  6. Cool completely before adding frosting or icing. Allow frosting to dry before storing in an airtight container.
