Local/Regional Vendor Code of Conduct

We believe all individuals should be treated with respect.
We exercise honesty and integrity in all relationships with
employees, customers, suppliers, and the community.

We value the special partnerships we have with our local and regional vendors. We feel our name stands beside and behind the many great local and regional products we sell, therefore we require that all local and regional vendors agree to our Code of Conduct.

Local/Regional Vendor Code of Conduct. We recognize that the business practices of our direct local and regional suppliers should compliment the values of our cooperative whenever possible. Therefore we ask those suppliers to agree to the following:

  1. Compliance with all relevant and applicable laws and regulations in which the workers are employed, both Federal and State

  2. Working conditions are safe and hygienic, ensuring that adequate steps are taken to prevent accidents and injury arising out of, associated with or occurring in the course of work – by minimizing as is reasonably practical, the causes of hazards inherent in the working environment.

  3. Working hours and requirements that comply with national laws and benchmark industry standards, whichever affords greater protection.

  4. Commitment to a workplace free of harassment, including harsh or inhumane treatment.

  5. Commitment to honesty in all communications with Outpost regarding product sourcing, animal husbandry, growing practices, integrity of ingredients, product labeling and invoicing.

Should violations of this code come to light, either through direct inspection/vendor visits, or as reported by any Federal or State agency, Outpost will investigate the issue to the best of our abilities and resources. A request may be made in writing to the vendor, to remedy the violation within 90 days of the discovering report, and the vendor will be required to report back to Outpost in writing, of their actions. Repeat offenses, a pattern of offenses or an unresolved offense may result in the discontinuation of the product line from the local vendor. Should that occur, a vendor has the opportunity to submit the product line for consideration after clearing up any violations.
