1 pound ground turkey
1/3 cup yellow onion, minced
2 tablespoons fresh basil leaves, chopped
2 tablespoons Italian parsley, chopped
1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger, minced
1-1/2 teaspoons garlic, minced
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon fennel seeds, crushed
Dash red pepper flakes
Olive oil for pan or grill
1. In a large bowl, combine the turkey, onion, basil, parsley, ginger, garlic, salt, fennel, oregano and red pepper flakes. Mix well. Shape into patties.
2. In a sauté pan, add just enough oil to coat a hot pan. Cook over medium heat for about 3 minutes on each side to brown. Serve in a pita or on a whole grain bun. Lovely garnished with sliced tomatoes and avocado.
