Meeting the Needs of Our Community
We're proud to be more than just a grocery store. For more than 40 years, Outpost has worked to help build our community through sponsorships, food donations and grass-root partnerships. It’s simple really, when you help. You get back a lot more than you give.
At Outpost, we envision an ideal world where our community has access to organically and locally produced goods, is educated about choices that impact the environment, and supports a locally-based economy. We are proud to work with many wonderful local organizations to move toward that vision.
Outpost Community Partners
Every year four locally-based non-profit organizations are given the opportunity to partner with Outpost in order to build greater community awareness of the group and also raise much needed funds. Read more.
Co-op Community Fund
In 2006, Outpost Natural Foods and the Twin Pines Cooperative Foundation joined forces to establish the Outpost Co-op Community fund. This fund supports the development of co-ops nationwide while at the same time gives back to local non-profit organizations. Read more.
Buy A Bag for the Hungry
A $20 donation will buy $40 worth of nutritious natural and organic foods for the hungry, including fresh potatoes, apples and carrots - that's enough to fill a typical grocery bag. Owners and shoppers purchased over 2,600 bags in 2012. That's over $104,000 worth of groceries! Read more.
Neighbor to Neighbor
Neighbor to Neighbor is a community partnership between Outpost and Walnut Way Conservation Corp. The program supports families living on a restricted income that want to make healthier choices in their lives, while at the same time building community health and wellness in the Walnut Way and Lindsay Heights Health Alliance neighborhoods. Think Outside the Lunchbox
Hunger doesn't take a summer vacation. Started in 2004, the Think Outside the Lunchbox summer food drive for Hunger Task Force educates Outpost owners and shoppers about hunger in our community during the summer months - especially for those those kids out of school who rely on school meals as part of their daily nutrition. Donation Policy
It is part of our cooperative spirit to support our community in many different ways. In addition to our community partnerships and initiatives, Outpost contributes to a host of local non-profit organizations throughout the year. Read more.
