Meeting the Needs of Our Community

We're proud to be more than just a grocery store. For more than 40 years, Outpost has worked to help build our community through sponsorships, food donations and grass-root partnerships. It’s simple really, when you help. You get back a lot more than you give.

At Outpost, we envision an ideal world where our community has access to organically and locally produced goods, is educated about choices that impact the environment, and supports a locally-based economy. We are proud to work with many wonderful local organizations to move toward that vision.

Outpost Community Partners

Every year four locally-based non-profit organizations are given the opportunity to partner with Outpost in order to build greater community awareness of the group and also raise much needed funds. Each organization will receive a $3000 donation from Outpost, one-fourth of the earned interest from Outpost’s Co-op Community Fund and opportunities to partner with Outpost on additional fundraising events. 

Think Outside the Lunchbox
Hunger doesn’t stop during the summer! Established in 2005, this summer food drive collects healthy snack, breakfast and lunch items for children in need. Many children rely on school programs to provide basic daily food sustenance. When school ends for the summer, so do these much-needed meals. In addition to thousands of pounds of food, Outpost shoppers donated over $3,200 to the 2010 program! Supports Hunger Task Force.

Holiday Buy A Bag Program

Purchase $40 worth of natural and organic food for ONLY $20!

Established in 1999, each November and December, shoppers can purchase $40 worth of fresh and non-perishable natural and organic groceries for only $20 - enough food to fill a grocery bag. Why not give a Buy A Bag donation as a gift in someone's name? Great for a coworker, friend or hostess gift. Gift cards are available upon request. Over $53,000 worth of food - 1,336 bags - was donated in 2009. Help us reach reach our goal of 1,500 bags.
