Why do you want to be on the Outpost Natural Foods Board of Directors?

Not only is Outpost an integral part of my life, it is also an important part of the Milwaukee area and I feel strongly in their mission to give us a healthy, diverse, and sustainable community. If re-elected, I will continue to do my part to ensure that Outpost’s integrity and commitment to us remains in the best interest of owners and the communities it serves. The cooperative business model is most successful when board members represent owner interests and that dynamic is something I feel very strongly about.

What professional skills do you bring to a Board position of a 50 million dollar business?

Currently, I am finishing up my third year on Outpost’s board and have been on the Executive Committee as Secretary for the past two. Three additional years of board experience comes from my involvement with Milwaukee SPE. In all my roles, communication, respect, dedication, trust, honesty, commitment and being open minded are all skills I use to foster a positive working relationship with those around me.

Describe areas in which you are culturally fluent with a diverse community.

People come from varied backgrounds and I strongly believe we need to foster opportunities to promote diversity and inclusion amongst ourselves. Through my position at Froedtert Health, I have worked with organization leaders to develop in-house education that details what diversity looks like, how to accomplish it and its importance for a strong community.
