Inside-Out Cheeseburgers

We’ve made these burgers with lots of different cheeses like feta, Gouda, bleu or sharp cheddar. The choice is yours, but we really love the gooey decadence of melted brie in this version.  
serves 4

Ingredients

1 pound lean ground beef (or ground turkey)  
(We like using Uncured Natural Meats ground chuck patties!)
1 small yellow onion, minced
About ¼ cup brie, divided into four equal portions
Salt and freshly ground pepper to taste
Olive oil

Inside-Out Cheeseburgers

Directions

  1. In a small pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat, add onion and sauté until golden brown.
  2. Divide ground beef or turkey into eight equal portions and form into patties. Place four patties on your work surface, gently press a portion of brie into the center and add a spoonful of sautéed onions to each.
  3. Take the other four patties and place one on top of each cheesy patty, pressing around the edges so all the stuffing is sealed in.
  4. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and cook as desired until internal temperature reaches at least 160° – these are killer on the grill!

Using 95% lean ground beef: 326 calories, 5g total fat, 3g sat fat, 2g carbs, 13g protein, 91mg sodium
