Hitting the roof

Food, Love and Policy By Unknown #2 on June 5, 2009
If you stand in front of the Outpost store on Capitol Drive and gaze across the street, you might see a man on his roof, digging. Which would be weird ... if it weren't for the rooftop gardening movement that is taking root in Milwaukee and other cities across the country.

Erik Lindberg is the man on the roof, and his organic rooftop greens can be bought if you just turn around, walk into Outpost and go into the produce section. Now that's what we call buying local!
The Outpost web site has a section containing videos of local growers, Lindberg among them, and now Kathleen Gallagher of the Journal Sentinel has caught wind of the story, giving this local grower and rooftop gardening some much-deserved limelight.
