Farmers Under 40 ... right here.

Postscript
Food, Love and Policy By Unknown #2 on August 26, 2009
A short while ago, we blogged about a Mother Nature Network article, profiling 40 Farmers Under 40. Not one of those profiled was from Wisconsin, and we had to do something about that! One of our Exchange writers has been busily interviewing young farmers in and around Milwaukee, and we're giving them some well-deserved limelight in the upcoming October issue.

Today, we drove out to East Troy to chat with Tim Huth, a young farmer originally from the La Crosse area. Huth went to college in Waukesha, where he earned a sociology degree. While there, he also learned that most farmers in this country were over 60 years of age, and the industry was threatened by a lack of up-and-coming talent. Huth took the opportunity to be one of the up-and-coming; he now grows food a short distance from the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute.

It looks to be an interesting read. If you're not an Outpost owner, you can pick up an Exchange at any of the three coops, and at various places around town, like Alterra, Boswell Books, and others.
