Rebecca Scarberry started making caramels as a hobby. It was something she did to sustain herself during her first two winters in Wisconsin. She’d always found herself making sweets to give as gifts to family and friends. Caramel by caramel she turned her hobby into a business. In 2007, she started Becky’s Blissful Bakery.
She’s been making these wonderfully sugary gems ever since. But Becky’s Blissful Bakery caramels aren’t your average, run-of-the-mill caramel. Rebecca uses only organic ingredients to make her caramels. Most of her products are gluten free, she uses brown rice syrup instead of corn syrup and doesn’t use emulsifiers, preservatives or extracts. Rebecca makes every small batch of caramels over low heat, which ensures a soft and rich consistency.
Rebecca has always loved making these little indulgences, but her interest in caramels has grown as she’s created more flavor combinations. Becky’s Blissful Bakery now offers eight different caramels (the menu includes a salted beer and pretzel caramel, a chai tea caramel and a cinnamon apple crisp caramel, among others).
When she started her business, Rebecca decided she wanted to make a commitment to partner with other local companies that share in our vision of quality organic products and dedication to customer service. She maintains that commitment by working with companies likes Lakefront Brewery, Rishi Tea and Stone Creek Coffee.
“Supporting local keeps our local economy growing, brings people together in our community, celebrates our communities’ unique character and creates jobs,” Rebecca said. You can find Becky’s Blissful Bakery caramels at your favorite Outpost.
