Mobile Market

Mobile Market is a year-round market on wheels, taking the grocery store to the people! Working within under served markets and food deserts, Mobile Market offers area residents the opportunity to shop for groceries without having to travel far. Their mission is to eliminate food security barriers by helping Milwaukee families take control of their diets and promote healthy food choices.

Mobile Market is open to the public, and they encourage anyone to come shop, spread the word about what they do, as well as consider them as your next volunteer opportunity!

Shop Stop Schedule

ATTN:  Due to central warehouse relocation, Mobile Market will be temporarily offline until further notice.

Please check back in early 2014 for more updates.

Mobile Market accepts Credit, Debit, Quest Cards/EBT (food stamps) and cash!

UPDATE: Retail operations and Shop Stop locations for Mobile Market have been temporarily suspended due to the relocation of their central warehouse food storage, including frozen and non-perishables. The folks at Mobile Market are excited to get operations back on track in August and will have the full complement of goods ready to go by that time. Stay tuned!

In 2012, the future for Mobile Market was tentative as their major supporter and food hub, SHARE Wisconsin, closed. A shout went out into the community via 88.9 Radio Milwaukee that immediate financial help was needed in order to keep the operation going until a more permanent business and operational plan could be put in place. Three organizations came to their need: SET Ministry, United Way Milwaukee and Outpost Natural Foods. Outpost provided the organization with a $20K grant. With this community effort Mobile Market was able to stay is business throughout the summer. In the fall of 2012, SET Ministry officially became their fiscal sponsor and a team of advisors assembled to work on a long term vision, goals and operational plan. Outpost general manager Pam Mehnert was a member of this advisory team.

Mobile Market will see 2013 as the year to put into action the new vision and operational plan. Outpost management continues to work with with the Mobile Market team as they develop marketing strategies, product placement and customer service support as they relate to a retail food environment.

Mobile Market will offer periodic get togethers where anyone can attend to learn more about what they do to accomplish their mission in the greater Milwaukee area. Information will be available soon.
